MAY 14-21, 2008 INT'L STAMP EXHIBITION IN ISRAEL 3/6/2008
As you may be aware, Israel celebrates it's 60th Ann this year, and in honour of this major event, there will be an International Stamp Exhibition taking place May 14-21 at the Tel-Aviv Fair Grounds. Judaica Sales will have a booth there, and we look forward to meeting many of our friends and customers at this show. For those of you who cannot make it, please be advised that the Israel Philatelic Services will be issuing a number of special items to mark this historic occasion. The regular stamps and souvenir sheets will be available to all subscribers and customers. However, there will be a number of special issue items for sale at the show only!!. These include a number of prestige booklets, a special show catalogue with a souvenir sheet embedded in it, various cancellations, as well as over 15 foreign postal administrations who will be issuing stamps and/or special show cancels to mark this event. Judaica Sales is now taking orders for many of these items, as most will be very limited in the quantity issued, and delivery cannot be guaranteed at all after the show. Please e-mail us at info@judaicasales.com for more information and a comprehensive listing of items available as at Mar 6.
HUNDREDS of NEW ITEMS ADDED!!! 9/10/2006
As mentioned previously in our newsletter, we will be slowly adding our entire stock on our site. This week, besides adding some 50 completely new Judaica stamps, covers and cancels, we have put up all our Romanian cancels and cachets, and all our Kristallnacht related items - from the 50th Ann in 1988 to the 65th Ann in 2003. Dozens of different Synagogues in Germany and Austria are shown. Check the following links for the above items. Judaica stamps and covers worldwide, Judaica cancellations and cachets, and Israel cancellations and cachets. All items never before added do have the "NEW" logo showing, which stays there for 90 days. And of course you can search by 30-60-90 day intervals. And look for our new feature WHAT'S NEW? coming within a week or two, whereby you will be able to go directly to new items of interest to you, by clicking this drop-down box. Let us know how you like it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND NEW GIFT PRODUCTS 9/5/2006
SHANA TOVA AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!A COMPLETELY NEW JUDAICA PRODUCTS PAGE!!!ALSO VISIT OUR E-BAY AUCTIONS AND STORE !!!We also want to welcome you to our new products page. It is the first time since we went on line some 7 years ago, that we have added a completely new section for books, gifts and other Judaica items, albeit modest to start with. There are other innovations as well, some hidden, but nevertheless making the site more efficient. And the links should also allow you to browse our site with greater ease. The credit goes to my son-in-law Scott, who is my webmaster and developer. To him the kudos, and the criticisms as well. So if you have any comments, good, bad or otherwise, we welcome them all. We want to make this site the premiere site for Judaica paper collectibles of all kinds. And to a third topic. Many of you may have noticed we are virtually down to less than 5-6 shows a year. Because of back problems, I have had to cut down on long distance travelling, and no lifting of heavy boxes (stamps are very heavy. So our main business will be on our site and on e-Bay. We urge all our customers to visit e-Bay and see our auctions and fixed price sales. Our user name on e-Bay is judaica-sales. Many one of a kind items will go up on e-Bay before they go on our site, or may not even reach our site at all. Between our e-Bay store and auctions and our site, I am hopeful you will find all your Judaica needs, and we urge you strongly to e-mail us with comments, suggestions, etc. |
DOZENS OF NEW ISSUES FOR 2005 10/10/2005
ALBERT EINSTEIN RULES!!! |
JUDAICA STAMPS AND COVERS FULLY UPDATED INCLUDING IMAGES!!! 1/1/2005
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2005In going through our entire stock for scanning purposes we also noted that many items are in short supply. This is the first time in many years we have updated our FDC stock, and many items have no more than 2-3 in stock, so we urge you to order as early as possible, as most of these items are extremely difficult to replace once they're sold out. To celebrate our completion of this part of the site we are offering a superb discount shedule on our entire website only until January 31, 2005Orders must be postmarked NO LATER than Jan 31, at which time all regular discount schedule comes into effect. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE!! We are also in the process of updating all our cancellations and cachets - BRAZIL and ARGENTINA are fully up, also with images, the rest of our stock will follow. And then we will continue to update and upload as much of our Israel stock, such as stamps, FDC's, leafs, show cards etc as fast and as much as possible. Unfortunately, I personally have been hampered in the last month of the year with a herniated disc, which has kept me away from work a great deal of the time. I will probably cut back further on shows and make more material available on my site and on e-Bay. P.S. We would like to point out that some of our FDC's seem to be discoloured either on top or bottom (or both). THAT IS IN FACT NOT THE CASE. It seems our scanner may have been off at the edges, and has given the illusion that the covers are discoloured. Please order with the knowledge that all covers are free of any such defects. |
A REFRESHER ON HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF OUR SITE 11/1/2004
A quick refresher on how to navigate our site at this time. We are in the process of making major cosmetic changes which will help you even more in the navigation. A new and improved shopping cart, and a secure site is being planned, and some minor Home Page modifications. The site map will for the most part remain the same, as almost all our customers are satisfied with the ease in which they are able to get to where they're going with just 1 or 2 clicks. Certainly we always ask for your suggestions and criticisms, which can only help make the site more enjoyable for you and your fellow Israel / Judaica collectors. 1. The easiest way to navigate the site is simply by going through the entire site and clicking next after every page. This way you get to see everything, both old and new. 2. Unfortunately, while entering items, in some cases, we delete an item by mistake and have to re-enter it. These appear as NEW items, so be careful when placing orders that you do not order older items (if you have them) as NEW items. 3. We have a problem by country and topic search, as well as by 30-60-90--day search. When you key in a country or topic or 30-60-90 day search that is longer than one page, clicking next will NOT bring you to the next page of that country or topic but straight to the beginning of the list. This has been a problem in correcting but we are trying to do this as soon as possible, as it is a major irritant. The only way to avoid this before this is fixed, is by browsing through the whole list (#1). 4. While we have tried to be uniform in listing our topics, we may have (we definitely have) screwed up in a number of instances. Conbsequently you may have the same topic entered twiuce with variations in spelling (errors), etc. This will be corrected over time. 5. Multiple word topics must have an underscore _ between words such as stars_of_david, or concentration_camps. 6. Our topics are listed in the plural, synagogues, flags, maps etc. 7. It is understood in this Judaica site that flags relate ONLY to Israel flags, maps relate only to Israel maps, mosques relate only to mosques in Israel, etc. 8. Each of our entries has room for 5 keywords. In many instances there are more than 5 keywords that can be entered. In this case we try to choose the more important ones. For example, whenever a photo is shown, we first list portraits. If there are many individuals shown, we list the most important such as Einstein, Freud etc. But there will be many keywords that cannot be listed. HOWEVER, inevitably, the item will be listed with another key word. So while not all Einstein stamps will be listed under scientists, all Einstein stamps will definitely be listed under Einstein. 9. All names have full names listed with the_ between them. Examples are: kirk_douglas, otto_wallach, karl_landsteiner, etc etc. However, there are some names that are simply known by their one name, and are listed as such. They are Einstein, Freud, Maimonides, etc. 10. Many items can, of course, be listed under multiple keywords, as explained. But with the internet, we can accomodate customers who want to focus on specific items. Consequently, while the keyword HOLOCAUST will bring up EVERYTHING related to the holocaust, keying in anne_frank will only bring up items related to Anne Frank. Another example is keying in the keyword SYMBOLS. This will bring up all items that have flags, jude badges, stars_of_david, alef_bet, etc. Keying in only stars_of_david, will only bring up Stars of David. 11. The search engine is NOT case sensitive, and both upper and lower case may be used. 12. We have have a link at the top of the Judaiaca stamps page to all our keywords in the system. Consequently, you can pull up this list and see all the keywords listed, and click on the topic directly from the list. This will alleviate misspelled words when entering a search. 13. When you pull up images, you will notice all the relavent data: Country, Scott #, description and prices come up alongside the image so that you will not have to go back and forth to see what the item is or what it costs. And finally we solicit your help. If key words are not right, or you want new key words added (we may increase our key words per item to 8) or whatever, frankly, please let us know. Most such changes are minor and we accomodate almost evrybody's requests, making the site easier to navigate for all. Have fun.
OVER 80 NEW CANCELS / CACHETS ADDED 11/1/2004
We are slowly starting to upload all our special cancels and cachets on our website and have made a super start. Appx 85 covers from Argentina and Brazil have now been entered. Descriptions are very liberal to allow you to pick and choose your topic and category. Images will come later. We have appx 750 diff (maybe more) such cancels and covers worldwide, the largest such selection anywhere in the world, and these cancels make a super addition to any Judaica inspired collection.
HUNDREDS OF ITEMS ADDED 10/10/2004
After a long spell of over one year, we have finally brought our Judaica stamps section completely up to date. All stamps, souvenir sheets, and sheetlets have been added including items received days ago. We will be adding the images for these items over the next month or two bringing our entire Judaica stock on line. Then follows First Day Covers with images as well. We have also added under the category of cachets and cancellations approximately some 30 or so new Brazil cancels, and shortly we will be adding Argentina and Romani, both of which we have large runs, and then the rest of our cancel and cachet stock. All these will also have images. So stay tuned and keep coming back. Have fun!!!
NEW ITEMS ADDED 3/9/2003
We just returned from our annual 1 month vacation down South, and we have added some dozen new items, including some old Bulgaria material, which we were out of stock for some time, and just received anew. Click on our search by new items to see those items added We also have a complete run of some 20 diff Israeli items related to the launch and subsequent destruction of the space shuttle Columbia, and the death of the astronauts including Israeli astronaut Col. Ilan Ramon. Many of the launch items number only 500, most of the items re-issued after Ramon's death, number only 387, the Hebrew equivalent of his name, called in Hebrew gematria or in English numerology. Qunatities are extremely limited and some sets already sold. we were planning to put them all up with images this week, but my son-in-law, who manages my system had a computer crash, and is the process of trying to get it restored. Hopefully by the end of the week, we can get it all up and running. In the meantime, if you are interested in any of the Ramon covers, please do get in touch with us. As always, to be fair, first come, first served.
ITALIAN CANCELS!! 1/7/2003
We have just uploaded 22 new Italian cancels, 3 were up already, with 25 images for our entire stock of Italian cancels. Many of these are in quantities below 5, so if you're not fast, some of them will be gone in no time. Once we sell them, images will be left up, as we are looking for more quantity on these items.
JUDAICA STAMPS AND COVERS FULLY 100% UP TO DATE AND NOW ON LINE!!! 1/4/2003
FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE WE'RE ON THE NET!!! All our Judaica stamps, souvenir sheets, sheetlets and First Day Covers are now 100% online as of this date. Everything in OUR JUDAICA STAMPS AND COVERS stock is now available on line. Images will follow for both stamps and First Day Covers, slowly but surely, as this is more time consuming. And then we'll follow up with hundreds of special cancels and cachets that are NOT First Day. Hundreds of prices, both up and down, hundreds of spelling mistakes (although I'm sure there are more), and hundreds of items have been added. FDCs for which we have diff cachets have all been added. In addition, what cannot be seen, is we added and corrected hundreds of key words that will allow you to search by topic, or more accurately by hundreds of topics and key wordsTo be sure, there are still some problems with the site search engines, and these are being worked on as we speak by a new webmaster. He has assured me that all errors will be corrected. But it is worthwhile once gain, to note how to navigate the site for maximum efficiency. 1. The easiest way to navigate the site is simply by going through the entire site and clicking next after every page. This way you get to see everything, both old and new. 2. Unfortunately, while entering items, in some cases, we deleted an item by mistake and had to re-enter it.
