        Philately: Errors and Varieties

          Israel
postage stamp errors and varieties are relatively inexpensive and
can easily be acquired by both beginner and advanced collectors
alike. While a large number of them from the 1960's to the 1980's
have been designated as "printer's waste", they have
nevertheless, proved to be popular with the Israeli collecting
community, mainly because they offer a "change" to the
norm, and can help dress up a collection. Early errors are far
more desirable and also far more expensive than those from later
years, and are far more difficult to acquire. These are generally
relegated to the "specialists" field of endeavor. |
